| Q1 : | Can I exit from the entrance and tap my ez-link card on the entry card reader when I alight from a bus? |
Should you need to alight from the entrance, please alert the bus driver to switch one of the card readers at the entrance to function as an exit card reader. You will then be able to alight from the entrance. Alighting from the entrance of a bus without alerting the bus driver will result in the maximum fare being deducted for the trip. It also signals the start of another trip as the card readers at the bus entrance are programmed as entry mode. |
| Q2 : | What should I do if I can't move to the exit of the bus and tap my card on the card reader when alighting, especially during the peak hours? |
If you are unable to alight from the exit of the bus, please alert the bus driver to switch one of the card readers at the entrance to function as an exit card reader. You will then be able to alight from the entrance. |
| Q3 : | What will happen if I tap my ez-link card on the card reader when I board the bus but forget to tap it again when alighting? |
The maximum fare for the journey (from the boarding point to the terminal) will be deducted when you tap the ez-link card on the entry card reader upon boarding. Should you forget to tap the ez-link card on the exit card reader, no refund will be credited to your card. Please go to any TransitLink Ticket Office or call 1800-767 4333 within three working days to file a claim. |
| Q4 : | Since feeder services/ night buses charge a flat fare, do I still have to tap my ez-link card when alighting? |
Yes, you will still need to tap your ez-link card on the exit card readers when alighting. |
| Q5 : | What will happen if I tap my ez-link card more than once when boarding or alighting? |
The entry and exit card readers will only process your card once within a time allowance. You will see an 'Entry OK' message at the entry card reader or an 'Exit OK' message at the exit card reader if you tap your card more than once. This means that the card reader has processed your transaction. You do not need to tap your card on the card reader again. Please proceed. |
| Q6 : | If there is a faulty exit card reader, what will happen when I board the next bus? |
In the event that both exit card readers fail, you can still proceed with your journey and transfer to another bus. However, the unused portion of the fare for your first trip will not be refunded to your card then. Please go to any TransitLink Ticket Office or call 1800-767 4333 for assistance within three working days to file a claim. |
| Q7 : | What will happen if both the bus validators and ez-link card readers are out of service and I do not have cash to pay the bus fare? |
Should the unlikely event occur, kindly board another bus with a functioning ez-link card reader. |
| Q8 : | If I pay for the first leg of my journey using the ez-link card and later transfer to another bus only to find that both card readers are out of service, I will lose my transfer rebate. Will I be reimbursed the transfer rebate? |
Please go to any TransitLink Ticket Office or call 1800 2255 663 within three working days to file a claim. |
