IDA COLLABORATES WITH INDUSTRY TO ACCELERATE E-PAYMENT ADOPTION IN SINGAPORE

SINGAPORE - 30 November, 2009 - In November 2009, the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore announced the award for the Call-for-Collaboration (CFC), by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) to catalyse the deployment of CEPAS-compliant POS terminals beyond the transport sector. EZ-Link was one of the five appointed partners to help propel the adoption of contactless payment beyond transport in Singapore. The CFC aims to increase the total number of Point-of-Sales Terminals by four folds, from 5,000 to 24,000, by the year 2011, and is expected to generate over 94 million e-payment transactions per year when fully deployed.
