QB Spearheads EZ-Link consumer payments for self-service photo kiosk industry

USE OF EZ-LINK CARD ENABLES DIGITAL PRINT CENTRE TO BE A FULLY SELF-SERVICED KIOSK FOR THE ORDERING AND PAYMENT OF PHOTOGRAPHS
Issued By: QB Pte Ltd

SINGAPORE, 6 April 2004 – QB Pte Ltd (QB), a wholly owned subsidiary of GreenDot Payment Services (GDPS), member of Singapore Technologies, is pleased to announce that in cooperation with Fujifilm Singapore, it has extended its ‘Tap’ Programme to enable consumers to pay for their photographic print orders using their ez-link cards.

The Fujifilm Digital Print Centre (DPC) is a self-service photo kiosk that lets customers place their own digital-media and digital-camera print orders. This is especially useful for customers who want more control over their photographic print orders, without having to wait for counter staff to attend to their needs.

Ms Norma Sit, CEO of QB, said, "QB is pleased to announce our tie-up with Fujifilm to enhance the consumer experience of ordering photographs at Fujifilm DPCs, by providing users with a simple and convenient way to pay for their orders using their ez-link cards. This cashless facility enables complete self-service at Fujifilm kiosks. It helps Fujifilm to cut queues, process and accepts orders instantly, and enhance customer service with the potential for round-the-clock facility. QB sees this as a strong start for the self-service industry in Singapore."

Concurring, Mr Ben Neu, Director of Fujifilm Singapore, said, "Fujifilm is pleased to add the ez-link card payment option to the Fujifilm Digital Printing Centre, enabling it to be a one-stop, fully self-serviced kiosk for the ordering and payment of photographic prints."

Previously, consumers could place their orders through the DPC kiosk, but still need to queue for payment at the cashier. QB’s revolutionary ez-link consumer payment solution eliminates queues by allowing consumers to pay for their orders upon submission at the kiosk, thus fully making the entire ordering process more enjoyable and convenient.

To assure consumers that their orders have been received and paid for, each DPC includes a receipt printer. Consumers need only present their receipts to the staff when picking up their prints.

Ms Sit continued, "Tap & Print is an extension of our ‘Tap’ programme which demonstrates how organisations can employ QB’s solutions to enable greater convenience to consumers through self-service kiosks in the non-transport arena." We have launched several ‘Tap’ programmes including Tap & Give and Tap & Play."

ez-link payment-enabled DPC kiosks will be placed at the following outlets and will be available from 06 April 2004:
