Q1: What is EZ-Reload by GIRO?

EZ-Reload is an EZ-Link auto top-up service. EZ-Reload by GIRO allows you to register for the EZ-Reload service with a DBS/POSB bank account.

Q2: How many EZ-Link can I link to each bank account when I register for EZ-Reload by GIRO?

You can link up to seven EZ-Link to your bank account when you register for EZ-Reload by GIRO.

Q3: What are the bank accounts that I can use to register for EZ-Reload by GIRO?

You can register for EZ-Reload by GIRO with a DBS or POSB savings/current account.

Q4: Are there any charges involved when I sign up for EZ-Reload by GIRO?

The charges for EZ-Reload by GIRO service include:

  1. A one-time application fee of $1
  2. A refundable deposit amount equivalent to the chosen auto top-up amount

Please note that an administrative charge of $2 will also be imposed for an unsuccessful auto top-up due to insufficient funds in your bank account. The EZ-Reload by GIRO service for your EZ-Link will also be terminated following the unsuccessful auto top-up.

Q5: How can I apply for the EZ-Reload by GIRO service?

Step 1 – Application

To apply for EZ-Reload by GIRO, please visit any AXS Station with your EZ-Link and DBS/POSB ATM card. Your application will be processed on the spot and you will be given an Autoload Reference Number (ARN), also known as Collection Slip Number.

Step 2 – Activation

Once you have received your ARN, you can activate the EZ-Reload by GIRO service for your EZ-Link at any General Ticketing Machine.

If you have misplaced your AXS Receipt carrying your ARN, please call the EZ-Link Customer Service Hotline at 6496 8300 (8AM to 6PM daily, excluding PH) and provide the CAN ID of the EZ-Link that requires activation for your ARN to be sent to you via SMS.

Q6: When and where does auto top-up occur on my EZ-Link?

Once the EZ-Reload by GIRO service has been activated on your EZ-Link, auto top-up occurs when the remaining value in your EZ-Link is insufficient for your next payment transaction when used on any public transport, retail merchant or in-vehicle unit (IU) for Electronic Road Pricing (ERP).

Do note that auto top-up for each EZ-Link will happen only once a day.

Q7: I am on EZ-Reload by GIRO but an auto top-up was not triggered on my EZ-Link when it had insufficient value. Why is that so?

Please note that the auto top-up can only be triggered once a day.

Alternatively, your EZ-Reload by GIRO service could have been terminated due to an outstanding amount incurred on your bank account.

To continue the EZ-Reload by GIRO service, please visit any General Ticketing Machine or TransitLink Ticket Office to settle the outstanding amount.

Alternatively, you can also settle your outstanding amount here.

EZ-Link reserves the right to utilise the deposit to offset any outstanding amount and terminate the EZ-Reload by GIRO service if we are unable to secure settlement for the outstanding amount owed to us. In this case, the deposit will not be refunded to you.

To continue the EZ-Reload by GIRO service, you are advised to settle any outstanding amount as soon as possible.

Q8: Why is my EZ-Reload by GIRO service terminated on my EZ-Link?

EZ-Reload by GIRO service will be terminated if we have been notified by the bank on the closure of your bank account or if the outstanding amount is not settled despite reminders from us.

In this case, your deposit will be utilised by EZ-Link to offset any outstanding amount owed to us.

Q9: How can I check my EZ-Link transactions?

You can check your last 30 transactions on your EZ-Link by presenting your card at any General Ticketing Machine (GTM) located at MRT /LRT stations.

Alternatively, you may also view your transactions via the EZ-link app.

Q10: How do I deactivate the EZ-Reload by GIRO on my EZ-Link?

Please visit any TransitLink Ticket Office with your NRIC/Passport and your EZ-Link to deactivate the service. Please note that if you have performed one of the following transactions within the last for days, you will not be able to deactivate the EZ-Reload facility on the card:

  • Activation of the EZ-Reload facility
  • EZ-Reload by GIRO top-up transaction
  • Settlement of outstanding amount that was owed to EZ-Link for any unpaid auto top-ups.

Q11: How can I change the auto top-up amount for my EZ-Reload by GIRO service?

To change the EZ-Reload amount that you have previously applied for, please deactivate the EZ-Reload service and reapply. An application fee of $1.00 applies for your re-application.

Upon deactivation of the service, please allow 10 working days for your account to be updated before you proceed to apply for EZ-Reload again.

Q12: Can I still register for EZ-Reload if I do not have a DBS/POSB account?

If you do not have an DBS/POSB account, you can still register for EZ-Reload with Master/Visa/Amex or Diners debit or credit card.

Please use the EZ-Link app to register for EZ-Reload with Mastercard/Visa. There is no convenience fee for EZ-Reload registration via the EZ-Link app.

(For Amex/Diners registrations, there will be a $0.25 convenience fee for every successful auto top-up.)

Q13: What should I do if I encounter an error during my application process for EZ-Reload by GIRO service via AXS Station?

Please contact the EZ-Link Hotline at 6496 8300 (8AM to 6PM daily, excluding PH). We will require the error message and error code for investigation.

Q14: My receipt was not printed at the AXS Station, what should I do?

You may contact AXS hotline at 6560 2727 (8AM to 10PM daily) for a reprint of the receipt.
