EZ-Link Opens New Chapter of President’s Challenge with ‘Tap & Donate’ Campaign

Limited Edition Platinum & Commemorative ez-link cards also launched to raise funds

SINGAPORE, 19 July 2012 – In support of the President’s Challenge 2012, EZ-Link launches the ‘Tap & Donate’ campaign, in partnership with Lianhe Zaobao of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH). For the first time, ez-link card holders can conveniently tap their cards at top-up and acceptance points around the island to make donations towards the President’s Challenge.

President Tony Tan Keng Yam inaugurated the official launch ceremony of this campaign today at The Clementi Mall. The occasion also witnessed the unveiling of Limited Edition Platinum ez-link cards and Commemorative ez-link cards – another joint effort by EZ-Link and SPH to raise more funds for the President’s Challenge.

It has always been our mandate to do our part for society and it is our privilege to be contribute towards the President’s Challenge with our esteemed co-organizer Lianhe Zaobao,” said Mr. Nicholas Lee, Chief Executive Officer, EZ-Link Pte Ltd. “By making it possible for public to make donations with a single tap at a large number of points across the island, EZ-Link hopes to encourage more Singaporeans to give to the less fortunate.”

Give Effortlessly with a Single Tap

From 19 July to 30 September 2012, members of the public can make donations of S$5, S$10, S$20 and S$50 to the President’s Challenge at more than 200 acceptance points conveniently positioned for shoppers and commuters around Singapore. These points include top-up machines at People’s Association (PA) Community Clubs/Centres (CCs), TransitLink Ticket Offices, Kim San Leng (F&B) Group, Sheng Siong Supermarket and SPH Buzz Pods.

Donors will also stand a chance to win a Hugs & Kisses FEVO prepaid MasterCard and plush bear collector set worth $52 for every donation made. 200 collector sets will be up for grabs, and each comprises of one unique card design bundled with a 8.5-inch plush bear.

Limited Edition, Commemorative Cards

To further bolster fund raising efforts for the President’s Challenge, EZ-Link and Lianhe Zaobao have also designed Limited Edition Platinum ez-link cards and Commemorative ez-link cards, both featuring the Istana.

From 19 July 2012, a total of 100 of these Limited Edition Platinum cards will be made available to donors. A selected few cards with auspicious numbers will be put up for public silent bidding starting from S$3,000 during the launch at The Clementi Mall. The remaining Limited Edition Platinum cards will be available for every S$3,000 donation at SPH Chinese Newspapers Division. A further 10,000 Commemorative ez-link cards will be available at all TransitLink Ticket Offices for every S$20 donation. There is no stored value in these cards and all net proceeds will go towards the appointed beneficiaries* under the President’s Challenge 2012.
