ZoukOut 2013 Goes Cashless with EZ-Link

Debut implementation of ez-link card payment system at Singapore’s hottest annual dance music festival to give partygoers new levels of convenience

SINGAPORE, 25 November 2013 – ZoukOut 2013 will be a cashless affair this year. EZ-Link Pte Ltd, Singapore’s largest issuer of CEPAS-compliant cards, will implement the ez-link cashless payment system on-site, making it the first time in ZoukOut’s 13-year history that partygoers can simply “tap and go” for their drink purchases at the party, with an ez-link card.

To commemorate the collaboration, EZ-Link and Zouk are also launching ZoukOut Limited Edition ez-link cards, exclusively designed by Zouk, as a ZoukOut 2013 memento. These limited edition design cards will be made available for purchase prior to the event from TransitLink Ticket Offices at City Hall, Orchard, Bugis, Changi Airport, Chinatown, Lavendar, Farrer Park, Woodlands and Somerset MRT stations. The cards will be available from 25th November to 11th December, after that, they will be available at the event grounds on 13th and 14th December. The cost of this card is S$10.00 (excluding stored value). These limited edition cards are fully functional ez-link cards that can also be accepted at more than 30,000 ez-link card acceptance points across the island, for public transport, dining and shopping.

At the event, night revelers can tap any ez-link card*, easily identifiable by the ez-link logo positioned at the back of the card (refer to the image below), for drink purchases at the bar stations. They can also buy the ZoukOut Limited Edition ez-link cards at the on-site sales booths if they do not have one with them, and reload their cards at the top-up stations via credit card or cash. Prior to the event, partyers can also purchase or top-up ez-link cards from locations all over the island**.

Any ez-link card, recognisable by an ez-link logo at the back of the card, such as the above, will be accepted at ZoukOut 2013.

As Citibank is ZoukOut’s official credit card sponsor, ez-link cardholders who top up their ez-link card using a Citibank credit card will be entitled to one free alcoholic drink. This is valid for top up amounts of $50 and above; between 8pm to 9pm at the ZoukOut festival grounds on both festival nights. In addition, holders of the Citibank SMRT Platinum Visa Card, which also carries an ez-link function, can also tap their cards for payments at the venue.

This new ez-link payment system complements Citibank credit cards, ZoukOut’s official credit card and preferred payment choice; as it gives customers who do not own a credit card another payment mode.

“We are excited about the collaboration with EZ-Link as its ez-link card payment system boasts cutting-edge cashless technologies and is widely embraced in Singapore,” said Timothy Chia, Zouk’s Head of Marketing and Events. “It is the perfect solution to push ZoukOut forward in our perpetual mission to improve the visitor experience, and together with our A-list line-up and programming, it will elevate ZoukOut’s status as a world-class music festival and set a cashless trend for outdoor dance parties.”

“It is very exciting for EZ-Link to be part of ZoukOut, Singapore’s most anticipated premium annual outdoor music festival,” said Mr Nicholas Lee, CEO of EZ-Link Pte Ltd. “Instead of having to fumble with cash for purchases at the event, with the ez-link card, partygoers can focus on having a great time. For overseas visitors, they can use the same ez-link card beyond the event for commuting around Singapore, shopping and dining.”

ZoukOut 2013 will take place on the 13th and 14th of December 2013 at the Siloso Beach, Sentosa. For more information, go to www.zoukout.com.

* Any ez-link card issued by EZ-Link Pte Ltd is accepted and can be topped up at ZoukOut 2013. Concession cards issued by the Land Transport Authority are also accepted but cannot be topped up at the event.
