EZ-Link extends convenient mobile app features to SimplyGo Concession card holders

Caregivers and holders of concession cards that are upgraded to SimplyGo can enjoy digital services like low card balance push notifications, remote as well as auto card top-ups, and more by adding their cards to the EZ-Link App

SINGAPORE, 19 October 2022 – EZ-Link Pte Ltd, pioneer of contactless payments in Singapore, welcomes tertiary students, full-time national servicemen, as well as senior citizens, persons with disabilities and their caregivers, amongst others, to the EZ-Link digital ecosystem, in conjunction with LTA’s launch of SimplyGo Concession cards. Please refer to the annex for more information on the various concession card schemes’ eligibility for upgrade to SimplyGo and subsequent access to EZ-Link’s digital services.

With the rollout of concession cards onto the SimplyGo platform, SimplyGo Concession card holders can enjoy a more seamless and rewarding travel experience with digital services via the EZ-Link App. In addition, caregivers are now able to manage their dependents’ card expenses and perform top-ups more conveniently and securely, simply by adding their dependents’ SimplyGo Concession card to their EZ-Link App.

SimplyGo Concession card holders can also use their concession card for contactless payments at over 500 EZ-Link merchants, participate in the EZ-Link Rewards programme and enjoy exclusive promotions ranging from food and beverage deals and cashback for card top-ups. To help concession card holders through this transition and enjoy the benefits of EZ-Link’s digital services, EZ-Link and the Land Transport Authority have partnered with the Infocomm Media Development Authority’s SG Digital Office (SDO).

Aside from visiting the SG Digital community hubs located at selected Community Centres/Clubs and public libraries, any commuter who requires assistance with downloading and using the EZ-Link App may also approach SDO’s Digital Ambassadors deployed at selected MRT stations and bus interchanges from 20 October to 31 December 2022. Make daily commutes more convenient and rewarding with the EZ-Link App

For the best user experience, commuters should link their upgraded SimplyGo Concession card to the EZ-Link App, which can be downloaded on the App Store, Google Play Store or Huawei AppGallery. They will be able to enjoy benefits like:

  • Contactless and remote top-ups: Top-ups for SimplyGo Concession cards can now be done remotely in real-time for commuters and family members, without the presence of physical cards. No more time wasted queuing at physical top-up channels.
  • Get rewarded with every transaction: Earn EZ-Link Rewards points for every transaction made on SimplyGo Concession card(s) linked to your EZ-Link App, and redeem rewards from the app.
  • Manage travel and retail expenditures better: Keep track of travel and retail expenses made on SimplyGo Concession cards easily via the app.
  • Receive instant updates: Get notified via push notifications for every transaction made (with card balance shown) and when there is low or insufficient credit as card balances will no longer be displayed on bus fare readers and train gantries.
  • Enhanced security: Instant blocking of lost cards to prevent unauthorised usage, compared to up to 48 hours previously.
  • Seamless Auto Top-Up application: Apply for Auto Top-Up function via the app without having to make a trip to the General Ticketing Machine or TransitLink Ticket Office.

Commuters can upgrade their existing concession cards at TransitLink Ticket Offices or any ticketing machines from today. There is no need to purchase a new concession card to enjoy the enhanced features. Existing concession cards that are upgraded will not receive a sticker on the back of the card but the upgrade will be automatically reflected on any Ticketing Machines as well as in the EZ-Link App that the card is linked to (see Image 1).
